Hood Tech Vision, leading supplier of high performance low SWaP payloads.

Hood Tech Corp, Vision Inc is one of the largest manufacturers of stabilized turrets that incorporate electro-optical cameras, infrared imagers, laser markers and designators, and many other sensor payloads. These imaging systems offer sophisticated capabilities developed to address a full range of military and civilian needs. Each turret is designed to stay tightly locked and focused on a scene for observation while mounted to a constantly moving, high performance platform.

Hood Tech Vision systems are designed to have the lowest Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) for their capability in the industry to allow maximum performance of customer platforms. With power and weight as little as half of other competitors Hood Tech Vision payloads offer enhanced flight times and increased range of operations with no loss of performance.

Hood Tech Vision has shipped over 10,000 units to date and our equipment has been proven over 1,200,000+ combat flight hours of operation. With this long history of success and experience Hood Tech Vision has the proven reliability and stability of supply needed to support any mission requirements. Hood Tech Vision also remains a very responsive organization able to adapt quickly to customer needs to insure that products meet customer requirements.

Hood Tech Vision - Over twenty years as a leading innovator in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

In addition to imaging systems, in 2002 Hood Tech began producing innovative UAV launchers and retrieval systems for small UAVs. Those innovations enabled the elimination of runways for launch and retrieval and freed aircraft for shipboard use, deployment in irregular or disrupted landscapes, and for operations in other difficult locations.  Known for their ruggedness and reliability, Hood Tech Mechanical launchers have initiated tens of thousands of flights under the extreme environments of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan and aboard ships in seas around the world.

Dr. Andy von Flotow founded Hood Technology in Hood River, Oregon in 1992. In addition to the design and manufacture of launch systems, the Hood Technology family of companies:

Provides zip test services for pre-flight safety verification of experimental aircraft and components.

Owns and maintains a silent wind tunnel for measuring UAV engine and prop noise in accordance with MILSTD1474.

Develops, tests, and manufactures stabilized imaging systems for a variety of UAVs.

Monitors blade vibrations in industrial turbines and jet engines, a diagnostic method for predicting possible future failures.
